Paestum Hot Air Balloon Festival
The beautiful temples seen from the sky and many games for children
From September 30th to October 8th the Paestum Hot Air Balloon Festival, in Cilento, offers the truly unique opportunity to admire the famous temples from the sky. Free flights, tethered flights, kite displays and a children's play area are available to visitors.
Imagine the sky of Paestum filled with dozens of colored hot air balloons and imagine the possibility of admiring the famous temples from above and, more generally, the beauties of Cilento. We are in Campania, a land that needs no introduction, and here from 30 September to 8 October the "Paestum Balloon Festival" will be held, a truly unique event in terms of beauty.
Those who wish can experience the thrill of a free flight starting from the archaeological area and landing in complete safety on a flat point identified during the aerial excursion: the flight can also be an opportunity to satisfy one's curiosities about the world of hot air balloons directly from the pilots. The minimum height to participate is 120 cm. While for the more "cautious" within the village area there is an area specifically dedicated to the tethered flight of hot air balloons which, anchored to the ground in complete safety with special ropes, rise approximately 20/25 meters offering also in this case the truly suggestive possibility of seeing the temples of Paestum from above.
And for children? The Festival also thinks of them and does so with a dedicated play area open from the first day: not only that, for the entire duration of the event the little visitors can play, have fun together, admire displays of kites flying and shows of buskers.
